Musician and tutor

Liz has been playing sax since the age of nine - after some very modest beginnings on clarinet and recorder - and hasn’t stopped since! Her passion for live performance grew and she completed her degree in Jazz Composition before beginning work professionally as a saxophonist.

Liz’s musical performance commitments are wide and varied, and have taken her on tour around the UK and Europe. As a member of Cambridge ska juggernaut Big 10, Liz has performed to thousands in the ska and punk scenes, supporting bands including Bad Manners and The Beat.

She has been a member of Terrorvision's live set-up since 2016, performing on baritone sax; and can also be found performing with function and post-modern jukebox bands at weddings and parties.

Alongside her busy gigging schedule Liz has been teaching woodwind and jazz theory for the past 15 years, with students at all levels, from beginners to advanced. She has taken many pupils through the exam system (both Trinity and ABRSM) and still takes the odd grade now and then to keep connected to the learning experience.

In her spare time Liz enjoys gardening, running and generally being outdoors where the wild things are.
